Friendswood Police responded to a theft in progress at the Walgreens located at 104 E. Parkwood Avenue in Friendswood, Texas, on June 26, 2024, at 1:18 PM. An employee reported witnessing a mother-and-daughter team engaging in theft, marking the second such incident at this location in recent months.
Officers arrived at the scene as the suspects were exiting the store and entering a white Chevrolet sedan. Upon searching the vehicle, officers found a large amount of stolen merchandise. The suspects were connected to two previous thefts in the past 24 hours, occurring at a CVS and another Walgreens in League City. In Friendswood, the thieves stole more than $500 worth of beauty products, while the thefts at the League City stores resulted in a combined loss of more than $1,500 worth of merchandise.
Tracy Hernandez-Ponce, 49, of Houston, and Kenneth Leslie Warren, 67, also of Houston, were both taken into custody. Hernandez-Ponce faces charges of Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity, and Warren faces the same charge with a bond set at $20,000.
Additionally, a 13-year-old juvenile from Houston was arrested and charged with Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity.
