Cass County Sheriff's Office received a report of a shooting around 9:00 PM on Friday night. The incident occurred on U.S. Highway 59, involving a Ford F-150 with a driver and three passengers in the backseat.
During the journey, one of the backseat occupants allegedly pulled out a gun. A struggle over the weapon ensued, leading to several shots being fired. Christopher Escobar, of Elsa, Texas, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other two backseat passengers were injured and taken to a nearby hospital. One was treated and released, while the other remains in stable condition. The driver was not injured by gunfire.
As of Sunday morning, no arrests have been made, according to the Cass County Sheriff.
