On June 3, 2024, Winnsboro Police Officers stopped a vehicle identified as stolen. The driver, 56-year-old Jerry Garwood Mitchell from Hutchins, Texas, was arrested. A search revealed he was in possession of illegal drugs. Mitchell faces charges of Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle and Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 1 greater than 4 grams and less than 200 grams (Analogue).
His bond was set at $75,000.
