On Friday afternoon, a 79-year-old man accidentally drove his Honda Accord into the lake at the Bringle Park boat ramp in Texarkana.
Nearby fisherman Ricky Dumas heard the commotion at the ramp and noticed the man sitting in the driver's seat as the car began sinking. Dumas quickly raced to the scene and managed to rescue the man before the vehicle submerged.
Texarkana Police credited Dumas with saving the man's life. The man was not injured, and efforts are ongoing to retrieve the vehicle from the lake.
