On May 23, 2024, Crockett Police Department officers responded to a residence in the 800 block of Monroe Street. Herbert “Andy” Allen, 78, was found deceased inside his home by a family member.
Officers noted suspicious circumstances at the scene, prompting Justice of the Peace Mike McCreight to order an autopsy. Preliminary results from the autopsy have ruled Allen’s death a homicide.
