On May 23, 2024, at approximately 10:35 p.m., Commerce Police officers were patrolling Ivory Moore Park when they noticed a vehicle parked beside the baseball field, flashing its lights on and off. Finding the situation suspicious, the officers decided to investigate.
Upon approaching the vehicle, officers identified the driver as Jax Lincoln Brown of Burleson, Texas. With Brown's consent, they searched the vehicle and found two marijuana blunts and a bottle of oxycodone in a pill bottle not prescribed to him.
Mr. Brown was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Drug-Free Zone, as Ivory Moore Park is classified as such. His total bond was set at $7,500.
