Paris Woman High on Drugs Attempts to Abandon Infant in Commercial Bathroom Stall

On Saturday, May 11th, a Paris Police officer responded to a welfare concern in the 3800 block of Lamar Avenue.  The reporting party had advised that Bishop was attempting to abandon her infant in a bathroom stall at the location.

The officer arrived to find 26-year-old Abbie Faith Bishop leaving alone.

Upon detaining Bishop, the officer determined she was under the influence of an unknown substance. Meanwhile, another family member of Bishop arrived at the scene and retrieved the infant from a male individual inside a nearby McDonald’s Restaurant.

During the arrest, police found Bishop in possession of methamphetamine residue contained in plastic bags. She was arrested for Abandoning/Endangering a Child, Public Intoxication, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Bishop is currently in custody pending further legal proceedings.
