Marshall Man Leads Police on Chase, Caught with Drugs

On Saturday, May 11, 2024, Harrison County Deputies engaged in a pursuit with a White Honda Accord after observing it speeding.

The driver, identified as 37-year-old Justin Alshun Jones of Marshall, failed to stop when the deputies activated their red and blue lights. Jones attempted to elude authorities by navigating through several city streets.

During the pursuit, he discarded a school backpack with drugs out of the car window. Despite his efforts, Jones found himself trapped at a dead end street on Sanford St. in Marshall, where he abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.

Following a brief chase, deputies apprehended Jones, who was subsequently transported to the Harrison County Jail.

Jones faces charges for possession of 2.5 ounces of cocaine, 9 grams of crack, 35 grams of THC, and 2.5 pounds of marijuana.
