East Texas Man Sentenced to 10 Years for Impersonating Police Officer

Jason Bradley Fears

Jason Bradley Fears, 36, of Bullard, was arrested on January 7, 2023, after being reported for attempting to pull over a driver in Chandler while using flashing blue and red lights. Fears was charged with impersonating a public servant and pleaded guilty in Judge Kerry L. Russell’s court on Monday. He received a 10-year confinement for the offense.

The arrest stemmed from a speeding stop by a Tyler officer, who recognized Fears as the suspect in the impersonation incident. Fears, driving a silver sedan, was allegedly using hand signals in his attempt to pull over the other driver.

Fears has a prior conviction as a lifetime registered sex offender, dated December 21, 2000, where he received a 3-year 6-month parole with mandatory supervision judgment. He was found guilty of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a 7-year-old male child.
