Wood County Deputies responded to a disturbance on County Road 4490 on April 17, 2024. The victim reported that her ex-boyfriend arrived at the residence to retrieve their child.
The situation escalated when the suspect, identified as Matthew Shayne Holt from Winnsboro, became upset and allegedly grabbed the victim by the neck, throwing her to the ground.
Deputies noted visible marks on the victim's neck. Holt was subsequently arrested and transported to the Wood County Jail. He has been charged with Assault Family Violence Impede Breath, and his bond has been set at $30,000.
