Shooting Incident Claims Life of 13-Year-Old in Marshall

On Sunday, April 28, 2024, the Marshall Police Department received a distressing 911 call reporting multiple gunshots in the 1100 block of Sanford Street in Marshall, Texas. According to reports, approximately 20 to 30 shots were fired, with witnesses hearing a vehicle speeding away from the scene. Two additional calls confirmed the gunfire and the urgent situation.

Officers responded to the scene at 2:25 AM, where they found 13-year-old Tristian Phelps of Marshall critically injured. Immediate CPR was administered, and EMS arrived at 2:26 AM. Tristian was rushed to CHRISTUS Good Shepherd Medical Center - Marshall, arriving at 2:32 AM.

Despite the efforts of all responding units, Tristian succumbed to his injuries on Sunday afternoon.

Authorities believe the incident may have originated from an earlier confrontation on Olive Street. The Marshall Police Department's officers and detectives have been working tirelessly to identify the parties involved in this event. They urge the community to unite during this difficult time and implore anyone with information, no matter how seemingly insignificant, to come forward.
