The Lufkin Police Department is investigating a shooting incident that occurred overnight on West Laurel Avenue.
At approximately 10:20 p.m. yesterday, officers responded to a report in the 100 block of West Laurel Avenue. They found a man with a gunshot wound to the head, who had sought help from a neighbor.
According to the victim, he had been robbed and shot by a person he knew, although he was unable to provide the suspect's name.
The injured man was airlifted to an out-of-town hospital, where he is currently in stable condition as of this morning.
