At 10:57 am on Tuesday, a Paris police officer observed surveillance footage showing a suspect behaving suspiciously in a parking lot located in the 3000 block of NE Loop 286. The suspect was seen pacing back and forth until a healthcare worker exited a nearby door from his place of employment. The suspect then quickly approached the healthcare worker and physically pushed him, causing the worker to move backward.
Authorities have indicated that they will be investigating this incident as a felony offense of Assault on a Public Servant. According to reports, the suspect's actions were motivated by his displeasure over his wife being part of a "group chat" that included the healthcare worker.
The investigation into this matter is ongoing.
