Altercation Leads to Gunfire Exchange in Paris, Suspect Arrested

Paris Police officers responded to reports of gunfire on Monday, April 22nd, in the 700 block of E. Austin St. Witnesses stated that individuals engaged in an altercation exchanged gunfire. Following the incident, police located a vehicle involved in the disturbance in the 600 block of SE 13th St. Although the involved parties were uncooperative, police identified some occupants and recovered a firearm from the vehicle, which exhibited multiple bullet holes.

Another vehicle linked to the altercation was intercepted by Lamar County Deputies on Highway 271, resulting in the arrest of the driver, 23-year-old Ka’Daevious Jenkins from Hugo, OK. Jenkins faces charges including Manufacture or Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Theft of a Firearm, Fraudulent Use of Identifying Information, Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon, and Possession of Marijuana.

No injuries were reported by either suspect. The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
