The Temple Police Department is currently investigating a call regarding a potential weapon on the campus of Lake Belton High School.
At approximately 8:29 a.m. on April 19, officers were dispatched to Lake Belton High School following reports of a possible weapon on campus. Upon arrival, officers located and apprehended the suspect.
No injuries have been reported, and there is currently no immediate threat to the school community.
As a precautionary measure, the school was placed on hold while officers conducted a thorough search of the premises. Following the search, the Temple Police Department confirmed that no shots were fired, no weapon was found, and no injuries occurred.
The individual taken into custody is believed to be responsible for making the phone call. The case remains under investigation.
