A high-speed chase spanning multiple counties came to a dramatic end on Thursday, April 18, 2024, when a vehicle crashed into a structure in Avery, Texas. The pursuit, which began in Franklin County, involved law enforcement units from various departments including DPS, Franklin County Sheriff's Office, Mount Vernon Police Department, Red River County Sheriff's Office, Bogata Police Department, and Clarksville Police Department.
According to reports, the vehicle reached speeds of up to 130 mph along Highway 37 before the crash occurred. The driver, identified as 21-year-old Gracie Anne Pribble-Johnson from Universal City, Bexar County, attempted to flee on foot but was swiftly apprehended. Pribble-Johnson was subsequently booked into Franklin County Jail on multiple charges, including Resisting Arrest, Evading Arrest Detention with Vehicle, Duty on Striking Unattended Vehicle, and Deadly Conduct.
Additionally, Pribble-Johnson had an outstanding warrant for Abandoning/Endangering a Child Intentionally.
Further details revealed that she had been previously arrested on March 19th by Schertz Police Officers and booked into Comal County Jail. Charges from that incident included two counts of Assaulting a Public Servant and Evading Arrest Detention with Vehicle. She had been released on bond after posting $30,000.
