Traffic Stop Leads to Cocaine Bust and Arrests in Crockett

On April 16, 2024, at around 7:55 p.m., Crockett Police Department officers conducted a traffic stop on a Kia sedan near South 4th Street for a traffic violation. The vehicle was driven by Erik Galvan, 30, from Jacksonville, TX, with Emilio Osorio, 31, from Tyler, TX, as the passenger.

During the stop, officers discovered an aftermarket speaker box in the trunk. Upon inspection, they found three bricks of suspected cocaine concealed inside the speaker box, wrapped in electrical tape. The combined weight of the bricks was a little over 8 pounds.

When the discovery was made, Galvan attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended by one of the officers. Both Galvan and Osorio were taken into custody and transported to the Houston County Jail.

Galvan faces charges including Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 1 >=400 Grams (1st Degree Felony), Evading Arrest or Detention (Class A Misdemeanor), and Resisting Arrest, Search, or Transport (Class A Misdemeanor). Osorio was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 1 >=400 Grams (1st Degree Felony).
