Paris Police are investigating a case of alleged assault after responding to a report of criminal trespass on Tuesday afternoon in the 3500 block of NE Loop 286.
According to authorities, the suspect involved in the trespass incident claimed to officers that she had been strangled by the victim of the trespass a few days prior. She recounted entering the suspect's room to speak with him, only to be forcefully pulled in, thrown onto a bed, and strangled.
Upon inspection, officers noted several days-old scratch marks on her neck. The incident is being investigated as a felony assault by a family or household member impeding breath.
