On April 5, 2024, Bowie County Sheriff Deputies arrested 26-year-old Kaija Javee Muldrew sexual child abuse. Muldrew is a former teacher at Liberty Eylau Middle School in Texarkana.
After an investigation, Muldrew is accused of molesting a 14-year-old male student on several occasions in 2023 and the sexual contact is being categorized as rape in the charges. She had been employed by the Liberty-Eylau ISD since July 2023 and resigned in March 2024 after school administrators confronted her with a video that showed her in a sexual situation with the boy. The video was provided by a student.
Muldrew told investigators that the boy had contacted her on social media, but the boy said that his teacher had contacted him.
Muldrew is charged with Improper Relationship between Educator/Student (Rape), Sexual Assault of a Child and Indecency with Child Sexual Contact. Her bond was set at $225,000. She bonded out of jail on April 8th.
