On April 11, 2024, in Longview, a Harrison County Deputy responded to a disturbance call at the 1200 block of Creekwood Ln. The caller reported that 17-year-old James Blake Summer-Thornton had assaulted his elderly guardian.
When the deputy arrived, James fled upon being instructed to stop twice. After the deputy warned James that he would be tased, he stopped, laid on the ground and was detained.
Investigation revealed that James had assaulted his legal guardian, causing lacerations to both elbows and facial redness and swelling. James also assaulted a female, who declined to press charges.
James was booked into Harrison County Jail on charges of Evading Arrest and Injury to Elderly with intent Bodily Injury, a third-degree Felony.
