Sharon Kay Johnson

In a case of mistaken identity, the Paris Police Department reported the arrest of a woman named Amanda Cofer on Wednesday, March 3, 2024. However, it was later revealed that the woman arrested had provided a false name.

The actual subject arrested was Sharon Kay Johnson, aged 46. Johnson now faces multiple charges and outstanding warrants, including the charge of Failing to Identify as a fugitive from justice.

Unfortunately, Johnson had already bonded out of jail by the time authorities discovered the deception.

Authorities are urging anyone with information on Johnson's whereabouts to contact PPD at (903) 784-6688.

"We apologize to Ms. Cofer for any distress or inconvenience.", said the Paris Police Department in a statement.
