Marshall Police, in collaboration with the Fort Worth Police Department, have apprehended a suspect in connection with the fatal shooting of a juvenile in Marshall back in 2023. Jarvis Ohasuerus Gill, aged 27, was taken into custody in Fort Worth and subsequently transferred to Marshall. He is currently being held at the Harrison County Jail, facing charges of Murder.
The incident dates back to June 7, 2023, approximately at 1:30 a.m., when Marshall Police responded to a report of a person lying in the roadway along the 1800 block of Alexander St. Upon arrival, officers discovered a young male deceased due to a gunshot wound.
A comprehensive investigation involving Marshall Police Department detectives, Crime Scene investigators, and Joint Harrison County Violent Crimes and Narcotics Task Force investigators led to the arrest of five individuals in August 2023. Among them, two juveniles were charged with Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity for Robbery. Additionally, three other individuals were apprehended for failing to report the presence of the deceased individual and were charged with Failure to Report Human Remains.
An arrest warrant had been issued for Jarvis Ohasuerus Gill; however, he had fled the area. He was eventually located in Fort Worth and taken into custody on March 26, 2024.
Gill's bond has been set at $535,000 as he awaits further legal proceedings.
