Shooting at Paris Block Party Leaves Multiple Injured, Police Seek Witnesses

A shooting occurred during an unauthorized block party at the Booker T. Washington, Paris Housing Authority Residential Property around 2:00 am on Sunday, March 31. Several 911 calls reported multiple gunshots, resulting in at least four victims sustaining non-life-threatening injuries. Paris Police Department, along with assistance from Reno Police Officers and Deputies from the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office, responded to the scene.

Preliminary investigation suggests that the gunshots stemmed from a fight between two male individuals near the 600 building. Approximately 80 empty shell casings of various caliber weapons were recovered from the scene. One adult female victim initially declined medical treatment but later arrived at the Quality Health Emergency Room at 6:04 am with a possible gunshot wound to her leg. No arrests have been made yet, but Investigators are reviewing security footage to identify and apprehend those involved.

The Paris Police Department urges witnesses with information about the incident to contact the Criminal Investigations Unit at 903-737-4138. They express gratitude to the Reno Police Department and the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance.
