On the evening of March 29th, 2024, the Brazoria County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) responded to a traffic stop in the 7600 block of CR 128. The driver, identified as Chris Perez, collided with another vehicle at the intersection of CR 128 and CR 143 before fleeing on foot, leaving behind a passenger.
The passenger reported an argument and alleged threat with a firearm by Perez when asked to stop the vehicle. With the assistance of multiple BCSO and Pearland Police units, Perez was located inside a trailer. Despite initial resistance, the situation was resolved with less-lethal measures and the Special Response Team's intervention.
Chris Perez faces charges including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, felon in possession of a firearm, and evading arrest. He is in custody in Brazoria County Jail with an $85,000 bond.
