Texarkana Police Apprehend Robbery Suspects Identified by Unique Footwear

Ladarrion Brown

Texarkana Police Department apprehended two suspects involved in a robbery reported late Wednesday night, March 27th. The incident occurred at a convenience store in the 2700 block of South Lake Drive, where two armed individuals threatened the clerk, demanding money before fleeing towards Sunset Apartments.

Despite efforts to conceal their identities with face masks, the suspects' distinct footwear became key identifiers. The perpetrators, later identified as 20-year-old Ladarrion Brown and a 15-year-old juvenile, were wearing notable items—a pair of red slides and mismatched Croc-type shoes (one white, one black).

Sergeant D.E. Evans, recalling a prior encounter with the suspects, directed investigations towards their residence. Detective Casey Schmidt corroborated the identification using surveillance footage from the store and Sergeant Evans' body camera.

Arrest warrants for Aggravated Robbery were issued, leading detectives to the suspects' apartment. There, they seized a backpack containing realistic-looking BB guns, masks, bundles of money, and the distinctive footwear.

Brown was booked into the Bi-State Jail, with bond set at $100,000, while the juvenile was taken to JDC for processing. The latter also faced an outstanding warrant for Assault from a separate case.
