On March 28, 2024, at around 8:19 am, the Chandler Fire Department received a dispatch regarding a major vehicle accident on South F.M. 315 over the Lake Palestine Bridge. Responding firefighters found six vehicles involved, some with significant damage. Concerns about possible ejection were noted.
Upon evaluation, emergency personnel identified five individuals requiring medical attention. UT Health EMS transported four patients via ground ambulance, while one person was airlifted by UT Health East Texas Air 1.
Due to the severity of the incident, authorities closed the Lake Palestine Bridge for several hours. Chandler Fire Department deployed three apparatuses and six personnel to manage the situation. Additional support came from the Chandler Police Department, Henderson County Sheriff’s Office, Texas DPS, UT Health East Texas EMS and Air 1, and one volunteer firefighter from Westside VFD.
