On March 30, 2024, Harrison County Deputies responded to a disturbance at a residence on the 7500 block of N. FM 450 in Hallsville. The call came from 49-year-old Cristen Earl Hill, reporting that an individual had pulled a gun on his wife, 58-year-old Patricia Murphy Hill.
Upon arrival, deputies confirmed that there had been a confrontation involving a firearm, but it was determined that Cristen had intervened, causing the gun to be pointed at the ground. Cristen stated that he confronted the individual, informing him that he was too old for physical altercations and wouldn't tolerate any assault.
During the investigation, it was discovered that Cristen Hill had an outstanding warrant for Theft. When deputies attempted to take him into custody, Patricia Hill intervened, throwing herself on him to prevent his arrest. A brief struggle ensued, resulting in the arrest of both individuals.
Cristen Hill was charged with his outstanding warrant, while Patricia Hill faces charges of Interfering with public duties and resisting arrest, search, or transport. Both were taken into custody without further incident.
