Small Texas Towns Prepare for Economic Boost Ahead of Rare Solar Eclipse

As the April 8 total solar eclipse approaches, businesses across Texas are gearing up for what promises to be a lucrative opportunity. Economists predict that the celestial event will not only draw in tourists from afar but also mobilize local Texans to prime viewing spots, amplifying the economic impact.

According to economist Ray Perryman, the total economic impact of the upcoming solar eclipse is estimated to reach approximately $1.4 billion. This figure places the event on par with some of the state's most significant sporting occasions. However, unlike those events which often favor urban centers, the eclipse is expected to predominantly benefit smaller towns.
