On March 23, 2024, a routine traffic stop conducted by a Harrison County Deputy on Highway 43 led to the arrest of 34-year-old Jose Jorge Perez-Pardo of Jacksonville, Texas. The stop was initiated due to the absence of registration and license plates on the vehicle. Upon conducting a roadside interview, consent was obtained to search the vehicle, revealing 5 grams of cocaine, a handgun, and a significant sum of money.
Perez-Pardo was promptly taken into custody by the deputy. Following procedures, the deputy filed seizure paperwork for the confiscated money and firearm. Subsequently, upon entering the jail, additional cocaine was discovered concealed on Perez-Pardo's person, resulting in an additional charge.
Jose Jorge Perez-Pardo now faces charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance (Cocaine), Prohibited Substance in a Correctional Facility, and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon.
