Texarkana Police are currently investigating a heartbreaking incident that occurred Thursday afternoon, resulting in the death of a young child. According to authorities, the child, who was just under two years old, was struck by a car in the parking lot of an apartment complex.
Reports indicate that the child was unsupervised at the time of the accident. The driver, unable to see the toddler, unintentionally hit the child. Following the incident, the driver promptly contacted the police and remained at the scene.
As of now, authorities do not anticipate pressing charges against the driver. However, an investigation is ongoing to determine how the child managed to leave their home unsupervised.
