Paris Police officers responded to a burglary incident on Thursday, March 21, 2024, in the 1300 block of W. Austin St.
The suspect, who was known to the victim and had previously received a Criminal Trespass warning for the residence, attempted to gain entry but was refused and ordered to leave by the victim. Despite this, the suspect later returned and managed to enter the locked residence by defeating a door lock.
When confronted, the suspect refused to vacate the premises. The victim then sought assistance from a family member, who successfully intervened and compelled the suspect to leave.
The case is now slated for prosecution.
