Lone Star Police Officer Saves Older Man From a Pit Bull Attack, Shoots Two Dogs

Last Saturday morning, March 9th, around 1:18 am, Lone Star Police Officer Felipe Andrade responded to a distress call in the 200 block of Fannin St in Lone Star. Upon arrival, Officer Andrade encountered a harrowing scene—a Pit Bull was viciously attacking an older black male who lay defenseless on the ground.

In a decisive action aimed at preserving life, Officer Andrade discharged his firearm, firing two rounds that struck the aggressive animal, halting the attack. However, the danger was not yet over, as another Pit Bull continued to pose a threat, actively attempting to inflict harm.

To protect both himself and the victim, Officer Andrade fired two additional shots, incapacitating the second dog.  The dogs had injured several people.

The injured older gentleman was transported to Good Shepherd Hospital in Longview.

The investigation is ongoing.
