On Tuesday night, March 12th, at approximately 8:25 PM, the Texarkana Police Department received a report regarding a shooting at an apartment complex located in the 1600 block of Allen Lane.
Upon arrival at the scene, authorities discovered a 22-year-old male victim inside one of the apartments. The victim had sustained gunshot wounds to his arm and hip. According to statements provided by the victim, he and his girlfriend were taking out the trash when the incident occurred.
The victim identified the alleged shooter as Reginald "Macho" Sirls, who reportedly approached him without uttering a word and proceeded to open fire. Following the shooting, Sirls fled the scene on foot, while the girlfriend contacted emergency services.
The victim disclosed that he was acquainted with Sirls, even considering him a friend prior to the altercation. However, the motive behind the shooting remains unclear.
Emergency medical services were summoned, and the victim was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Fortunately, his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
In light of the incident, detectives have obtained a felony Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon warrant for Sirls, who is 17 years old. Law enforcement efforts to locate Sirls have been ongoing, but he remains at large.
