On Sunday night, March 10, 2024, a Paris police officer was patrolling the 200 block of NE 6th when an unusual encounter unfolded. Rickey Glen Walters, 62, abruptly halted his bicycle and approached the officer, signaling for assistance.
Walters claimed he had dropped something on the road and suspected it was under the patrol unit. However, upon closer interaction, the officer noticed signs of intoxication emanating from Walters, along with his agitated demeanor and unclear speech.
Following a consensual search, Walters was found to be in possession of a controlled substance, specifically methamphetamine. As a result, he was arrested on charges related to drug possession.
