Texarkana Police Department responded to a call regarding an alarm at a business located in the 900 block of New Boston Road around midnight on Saturday night. Officer Matthew Lindsey arrived at the scene to find the front window of the establishment shattered and noises of glass breaking emanating from inside the building. Upon investigation, Lindsey observed Colton Lewellen exiting the back of the premises, prompting his apprehension. Lewellen was found in possession of various items confirmed to be from the burglarized business.
Further inspection revealed extensive damage within the store, with shelves destroyed and glass items strewn about. The estimated cost of the destruction amounts to approximately $7,500. Colton Lewellen, 27, has been detained at the Bi-State Jail and is facing charges of Burglary of a Building and Criminal Mischief. His bond has been set at $45,000.
