Massive Property Recovery, Drug Seizures, and Arrests in Kaufman County Multi-Agency Operation

During a three-day operation from February 29 to March 3, 2024, a joint effort by several law enforcement agencies in Kaufman County proved fruitful. The collaboration between the Kaufman County Sheriff's Office, Kaufman County Street Crimes Unit, Forney Police Department, Kaufman County Pct. 2 deputies, and the Kaufman County DA’s Office resulted in significant achievements.

Law enforcement officials successfully recovered over $90,000 worth of stolen property during the operation, including a trailer filled with stolen mattresses, vehicles, and travel trailers. Additionally, 430 grams of illicit drugs and four handguns were confiscated, with one handgun being equipped with a Glock switch, a device deemed illegal by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).

The combined efforts led to the apprehension of ten adult males, two adult females, and one juvenile, who were arrested on various charges. These charges ranged from possession of marijuana and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle to unlawful carrying of a weapon and manufacturing and delivery of a controlled substance. Furthermore, 39 outstanding warrants were cleared during the operation.

Sheriff Bryan Beavers emphasized the importance of the operation in maintaining public safety and upholding the rule of law, stating, “The outcome of this operation underscores the commitment of local law enforcement to maintain public safety, uphold the rule of law, and actively address criminal elements within our community.”

District Attorney Erleigh N. Wiley commended the collaborative efforts of law enforcement, stating, “I commend our law enforcement community for working together to eradicate crime. These types of proactive measures will keep our county safer.”
