In late February, a Rockwall Realtor and church youth volunteer, Natalie Sorrells, 44, was arrested on charges of aggravated sexual assault of a child. The arrest took place in the city of Heath, where Sorrells faces two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child and two counts of indecency with child sexual contact.
Sorrells had been volunteering as a youth worker at Lakepointe Church in Rockwall. Following the arrest, Lakepointe Church issued a statement confirming the situation. The church stated that while there is no indication of inappropriate activity occurring on church premises or during church events, they were taking proactive measures.
The statement indicated that Sorrells was immediately restricted from any access to minors at the church and removed from her volunteer position. Additionally, Lakepointe Church informed parents about the situation.
