At around 09:30 am on Sunday, March 3, 2024, the Rusk County Sheriff's Office responded to a call on Hwy. 79 at CR 347 reporting a potential accident.
Upon arrival, deputies and a DPS trooper discovered the driver deceased in the driver's seat. An investigation ensued, resulting in the arrest of the passenger on charges of murder.
As the case is still in its early stages, no names have been released. It's been assured that the Chapman community was not at risk, as the suspect was apprehended at the scene.
