On Tuesday, February 27, 2024, around noon, Terrell Police Department officers received a license plate reader alert regarding a vehicle linked to a homicide in Hinds County, Mississippi.
Acting on the notification, officers located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop near W. Interstate 20 and Spur 557. Upon approach, the occupants were identified as Jeremiah Jahorra Keyes, a 40-year-old male from Magee, Mississippi, and Jonjala Vshay Lee, a 33-year-old female from Jackson, Mississippi.
Keyes was apprehended under a homicide warrant issued in Hinds County, Mississippi, pertaining to the killing of his nephew, 20-year-old Victavis Hobson. The incident occurred on January 19, 2024, around 8:45 pm, on Falcon Ridge Drive in Raymond, MS. Hobson sustained a single gunshot wound to his lower abdomen while standing in his driveway. An altercation between Hobson and Keyes, who approached in a vehicle, preceded the shooting.
Meanwhile, Lee was arrested for unlawful carrying of a weapon, as drugs and a weapon were discovered in the vehicle during the stop.
