A fatal crash in Longview is under investigation by the Longview Police Department after an incident on February 24, 2024, at approximately 12:52 p.m. The crash occurred in the 500 block of West Hope Drive.
Lantz Darensbourg, a 46-year-old resident of Longview, was driving west on W. Hope Dr when he left the roadway, striking a pedestrian and a vehicle. The pedestrian was rushed to a local hospital but succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced deceased.
Upon investigation, officers determined that Darensbourg was driving while intoxicated. He was arrested for Intoxication Manslaughter and taken into custody without further incident. Darensbourg was transported to the Gregg County Jail to await further legal proceedings.
