In Hawkins, Texas, on February 20, 2024, Wood County Sheriff Deputies responded to reports of a stolen vehicle. The caller had alerted authorities after becoming suspicious while inspecting a motorcycle he suspected to be stolen. Upon running the vehicle identification number (VIN), deputies confirmed the motorcycle's stolen status and reached out to the suspect.
The individual in question was identified as 31-year-old Justin Robert Pruitt, from Longview. During the encounter with law enforcement, Pruitt disclosed possession of a crystal-like substance. Consequently, he was taken into custody on charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and possession of a controlled substance.
Pruitt's bail has been set at $20,000 as per official procedures.
