On February 19, 2024, at approximately 2:08 a.m., officers from the Crockett Police Department responded to a call regarding an assault at a residence on Rose Street. The caller, who reported being assaulted by his girlfriend, identified as 30-year-old Jhaeneisha Deshay Andreson of Crockett, Texas, informed the authorities that Andreson was intoxicated and aggressive.
Upon arrival, officers found the male victim with multiple injuries. They discovered that Andreson had barricaded herself inside the residence with her three children, aged 3, 8, and 11. Despite attempts to communicate with her, Andreson refused to cooperate.
After gaining entry into the home, officers encountered resistance from Andreson, who attempted to prevent them from entering further. She then physically resisted arrest and brandished a large kitchen knife, attempting to stab one of the officers. A deputy from the Houston County Sheriff’s Office intervened, preventing the assault and disarming Andreson. However, in the process, the deputy sustained a cut to his hand.
Following a struggle, officers managed to subdue Andreson using a Taser and took her into custody. She was subsequently charged with assault, interfering with an emergency request for assistance, resisting arrest, abandoning/endangering a child, and aggravated assault against a public servant.
The injured deputy received medical treatment at the Mid-Coast Medical Center in Crockett and was later discharged. No other individuals involved in the incident sustained injuries. A
ndreson is currently held at the Houston County Jail.
