Paris Police officers responded to a disturbance on Monday, February 19th, at around 8:50 pm, in the 3200 block of Clarksville St. The suspect, identified as 19-year-old Juan Jose Franco, had allegedly assaulted his live-in girlfriend. According to reports, Franco struck the victim multiple times with his fist and then attempted to push her in front of a moving vehicle on Clarksville St.
The driver and passenger of the vehicle involved confirmed the incident upon police arrival. Despite apparent injuries from the assault, the victim expressed reluctance to press charges, citing a lack of alternative accommodation.
Officers apprehended Franco shortly thereafter. He confessed to assaulting the victim. Consequently, Franco was arrested on charges of Aggravated Assault on a Family Member for his attempt to push the victim into traffic.
