On Saturday, February 17, 2024, Panola County Sheriff's Deputies went to a residence on County Road 4681 in the Logan community regarding a wanted person. 28-year-old Dakota Rope Pride of Carthage, wanted on active warrants from Rusk County for failure to appear/injury to a child (3rd degree felony) and from Panola County for assault by contact, fled on foot upon seeing the deputies.

During the pursuit, Pride's father, Curtis Bryan Pride, confronted the deputies and was warned not to interfere with the arrest. Ignoring the warning, Curtis Bryan Pride was arrested for interfering with public duties.

K9 Corporal Mojica and K9 Zago were deployed to assist in the search. Meanwhile, another family member, Dalton Rider Pride, approached the deputies but was instructed to return home due to his high level of intoxication. Ignoring the instruction, Dalton Rider Pride was charged with public intoxication.

Dakota Rope Pride was eventually located at a nearby relative's residence and taken into custody on the two warrants along with an additional charge of evading arrest on foot.
