Paris Police Officer Assists Texas DPS in Pursuit, Suspect Apprehended on Multiple Charges

Quantravious Kejuanta Gray

On February 15, 2024, in Paris, Texas, a Paris Police Officer aiding the Texas Department of Public Safety in a motor vehicle pursuit encountered an unexpected situation. During the pursuit, the pursued driver tossed an object from their vehicle in the 400 block of E. Hickory St. As the officer approached the area where the item was discarded, they noticed another vehicle stopped nearby.

The officer halted the second vehicle, driven by Quantravious Kejuanta Gray, aged 23, who initially provided a false name. When questioned further, Gray admitted to having an outstanding traffic warrant. Concerned that Gray might attempt to flee, the officer physically restrained him. However, Gray resisted, pushing and struggling against the officer.

Additional law enforcement arrived at the scene, assisting in subduing Gray, who was subsequently taken into custody. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that Gray was wanted on Denton County warrants for Assault by Impeding Breath and a local warrant for Assault against a family member.

In addition to these charges, Gray now faces additional charges including Evading Arrest or Detention, Failure to ID as a fugitive from justice, and Resisting Arrest.
