On February 1, 2024, 36-year-old Edgar Merino Hernandez, a resident of Sherman, was reported missing by a family member. Hernandez was last seen near Hilltop Drive in Sherman.
Following the report, Grayson County Deputies and Investigators initiated an investigation into Hernandez's disappearance. Extensive efforts were made, including numerous interviews and multiple searches of the area, all yielding negative results.
However, on the morning of February 12th, Hernandez's body was discovered deceased in a body of water close to the area where he was last seen. The cause of his death remains undetermined at this time.
The Grayson County Sheriff's Office is actively investigating this case. Despite the tragic outcome, authorities have stated they have no reason to believe there is any immediate danger to the public.
