Woman Arrested After Overnight Stay in Closed Texarkana Walgreens

Brooke Dana Shimanek

Texarkana Walgreens Pharmacy had an unexpected visitor early this morning, leaving employees surprised and authorities called. As staff arrived to open the store, they spotted a woman, later identified as 32-year-old Brooke Dana Shimanek, wandering inside wearing a robe. Concerned, they promptly dialed 911.

Officer Jonathan Price responded to the scene, encountering Shimanek exiting the store carrying a backpack filled with various items. Despite being questioned about her presence in the closed store, Shimanek remained uncooperative, refusing to disclose her identity and attempting to leave the scene.

Upon inspecting her backpack, Officer Price uncovered numerous Walgreens goods, including wine, cigarettes, markers, notebooks, and chocolate. Additionally, employees discovered that Shimanek had defaced restroom walls with a sharpie marker during her unauthorized stay.

It appears Shimanek managed to evade detection and hide within the store overnight. Consequently, she was arrested on charges of Burglary of a Building and taken into custody at the Bi-State Jail for processing.
