Bonham Independent School District (BISD) has confirmed the arrest of Jherson Manuel, a teacher at IW Evans Intermediate School, on allegations of inappropriate social media communication with a high school student.
The district issued a statement expressing sadness over the incident. The statement outlined that upon receiving a report from the student, the teacher was immediately removed from campus and placed on administrative leave.
The Bonham Independent School District Police Department, in collaboration with the Fannin County Children's Advocacy Center (FCCAC), conducted an initial investigation leading to the teacher's arrest at the Bonham ISD Administration Center.
Superintendent Kelly Trompler underscored the priority of student safety and well-being, emphasizing that behaviors harming children are not tolerated. The district is fully cooperating with law enforcement and the FCCAC to ensure justice is served.
