Two suspects have been arraigned in connection with the murder in the 600 block of Summerhaven early Monday morning, February 5, 2024. Forney Detectives believe this was a pre-meditated targeted attack.
Deaundre Bernard Walker of Forney faces charges of Murder and First Degree Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance. Investigators found 240 grams of narcotics during a search at his residence. Walker's bond is set at $1,000,000 for the Murder charge and $500,000 for the Possession of Controlled Substance charge.
Mayra Lara (Diosdado) of Forney is charged with Murder and Second Degree Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance. Lara also faces warrants from Parker County. Her bond is set at $750,000 for the Murder charge and $100,000 for the Possession of Controlled Substance charge. The Parker County warrant is a no-bond warrant. Both suspects will be moved to Kaufman County Jail.
