In the early hours of Tuesday morning, February 6, 2024, a Paris Police officer operating covertly in the 200 block of Stone Avenue encountered an individual on foot believed to be involved in auto burglaries.
When the officer attempted to approach the individual, they fled the scene. Additional officers responded to the area and located a person matching the suspect's description in the 2600 block of N. Main.
Despite attempts to evade capture, the suspect was apprehended in the 300 block of Stone Avenue. The individual identified themselves as Scott Sims, but further investigation revealed their true identity as Stacy Allen Sims.
Sims had a history of previous charges related to evading arrest and an outstanding warrant. Consequently, officers charged Sims with evading arrest, habitual criminal behavior, and failure to identify as a fugitive from justice.
